4. FILL IN REST OF LID; SET BOTTOM ROW

For the bottom row, alternate rectangles with millefiori. Be sure to set the pieces flush with the bottom of the lid so it will close properly. Complete steps 1-4 to fill in the other three sides of the lid.

5. ADD TILE TO PERIMETER OF TOP

It’s time to fill in the top of the box. Start placing the row along the perimeter of the box. Spread a thin layer of mastic in small sections, alternating small squares and small rectangles. It’s very important to overlap the tiles on the top edge of the lid so they are flush with the edge of the tiles on the side of the lid.
